My creative work is rooted in nonobjective abstraction, a minimalist view, and contemplative inquiry. The result is expressed through minimalist visual language. In visual art I have a passion for less is more, subtlety is alluring and seeking the essence of something is endlessly mysterious. My passion is the study of phenomenology, how the mind interprets what the world is seemingly presenting to us, and the dance between space and form. 

 

The vertical and horizontal lines​ in the paintings are a visual device that ​symbolize a hidden dimensional ​substrate beneath all experience, the invisible scaffolding. Paint is applied sparingly; colour moves in quiet, undulating fields​. There is an intention to express a flux of light and form without being fixed in place.

 

​Ultimately the artwork represents poetic interpretations of space, light, and thresholds between stillness and movement. I use the method of visual reduction as a process, working with less surface activity.
